Responsibility as the value base of our operation

In our everyday life and work our choices are strongly lead by sustainability and ecological values. We recycle at home and at work, move around on foot and by bike, and the CEO’s car runs on biogas. In a small company, the operation of the firm is naturally lead by the green values of the people behind it, but there’s always things we can do better. When the mind is open to new things, it is also receptive to the problems. Through this process we can always make our operation better; for both our client and the environment!

Along with environmental responsibility, social and cultural responsibility are also at the core of our work. One of our principles is networking, and we especially look to work with small local businesses. We also expect responsibility in the operation from our partners. The content of our adventures highlights Tampere’s history, and we examine the city’s evolution into how we see it as today. In addition to that, we’ve researched the important cultural heritage of the Finlayson area, and highlighted it through the content of Roof Walk and City Adventures. The history of the factory area must be respected, but it also must be brought to life and made visible for future generations. It is a unique environment, that is an important part of Tampere as a tourist destination.

EcoCompass certificate and Sustainable Travel Finland label!

We have obtained an EcoCompass sertificate in 2021 and Visit Finland’s Sustainable Travel Finland label in 2022.

On our journey towards a more responsible way to operate we have built an environmental management system with the sustainability professionals from EcoCompass. Then we started a sustainable travel development path in which we observed and documented our operations at 7 steps to achieve the Sustainable Travel Finland label. Now we’ve created a good base to develop our operations to even more sustainable direction by taking care of as well environmental, social, cultural as the economical responsibility in all our operations and business.

Tampere, like all the other destinations in Finland have the opportunity to earn the STF label. Companies’ commitment to a common goal is a key factor in obtaining the label. In addition to our own work in the area of sustainability we feel it is important that we’re a driving force in developing Tampere as a tourist destination.

Better on foot

We operate mainly in Tampere city centre. You can always reach us by public transport. Have you found out how quickly you could travel from your house to Finlayson by public transport? Check it out here: reittiopas.tampere.fi.
We’re easily reached by bike as well, and there are plenty of bike parks in the Finlayson area, on Itäinenkatu. Sometimes it’s best to travel by car, and in those cases we encourage you to carpool. The environment will thank you, and the company will no doubt be refreshing!

In our adventures – both on land and on rooftops – you’ll always move with your muscles. An important part of experiences is to try things yourself, experience things yourself, move around yourself and see the sights yourself. In the city centre everything is surprisingly near, even when traveling on foot, and you’ll have time to examine the details in a beautiful city, where there is plenty to see even in familiar routes!
