The Roof Walk is a truly unique experience that presents Tampere from a completely new perspective — for visitors and locals alike. Built on the rooftops of the historic Finlayson factory buildings, the route is the only Roof Walk of its kind in Finland, combining breathtaking views with the echoes of history.

The Roofwalk Finlayson Area experience takes you, guided by an expert guide, onto the rooftop of a historic factory building, where you’ll enjoy stunning views over the Tammerkoski National Landscape.
Along the route, you’ll hear stories about Tampere, its people, and the era of the factories — stories that bring the scenery vividly to life.
At the viewing platform, beneath the iconic Finlayson sign, we’ll take our time to capture the moment in photos. A Polaroid photo taken by your guide is included in the price of the experience.

Coffee and buns on the rooftop
Not your average coffee break. This is coffee and sweet buns on a rooftop.
This experience includes the Roofwalk Finlayson Roof Walk and a coffee-and-bun moment served on the Finlayson rooftop — right beneath the iconic Finlayson sign.
This is a Tampere-style treat: genuine, relaxed, a little bold, and proudly its own thing. No glitter, no gimmicks — just the rooftop, the atmosphere, and really good buns.

Sparkling Wines at New Heights
Sparkling Wines at New Heights is an experience where Tampere opens straight into your heart — from above.
Together with your guide, you’ll walk across the historic rooftops of Finlayson. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about Tampere, gaze out over the Tammerkoski National Landscape, and let the city enchant you all over again.
After the Roof Walk, we’ll move to the private Roofwalkers Lounge, where sparkling wine is waiting and the views continue their magic. It’s time to raise a glass, take a deep breath, and let the moment take over.

Roof Walks are operated in all kinds of weather.
In case of a storm or thunder, the walk will be cancelled for safety reasons.
If needed, you can borrow a rain jacket from us.
Safety and Important Information
The Roof Walk takes place on walkways without railings. Each participant wears a safety harness that is attached to a safety cable for the entire route.
We do not recommend wearing a long skirt or dress.
Please choose your footwear with care, as the route includes steel grating and stairs.
Due to the roof structures, the Roof Walk is not an accessible experience.
Guided Tour Languages
During the walk, you will hear the guided tour through headphones. You can choose the language on site:
Finnish – stories in standard Finnish
English – the same content in English
Tampere dialect – stories told in the local Tampere dialect

Roof Walk on the map
The Roof Walk route is located in the city centre of Tampere, in the Finlayson area, in the Media 54 building.
Follow the signs from the Siperia shopping centre (entrance from Itäinenkatu) or from the entrances of the Media 54 building (Satakunnankatu 18A or from the inner courtyard at Finlaysoninkuja 27).
GETTING HERE
The Finlayson area is easy to reach by public transport. Check routes with Nysse public transport: reittiopas.tampere.fi
There is plenty of space for bicycles at the bike parking areas in the Finlayson area.
There is a parking garage nearby: Finnpark Plevna. Street parking is also available on Finlaysoninkatu and Puuvillatehtaankatu.
